This summer we rented out Toronto’s iconic The Second City to treat folks to a fun free event. The room was quickly abuzz, with guests taking full advantage of a 360 degree photo booth, delicious canapes and drinks, and PrEP Clinic swag bags.

The crowd settled into their seats, ready to enjoy a lineup chalk full of Canada’s top comedic acts – Pride-coloured popcorn in hand. After a word from our Community Engagement Coordinator, Evan, the show was opened by the always feisty, Brandon Ash-Mohammed, award-winning writer for Canada’s Drag Race. 

The show continued as sketch comedy troupe, Summer Dad, shone a light on the hilarity of life, blitzing through a set of awkward and all-too-familiar commonplace scenes. Comedian/musician Anesti Daniels brought humour and heart to the evening, with his original storytelling songs, a la Bo Burnham. CBC star, Tricia Black, was a highlight of the evening, whose brilliant performance blended music, comedy, improv, and guest participation. Last but certainly not least, Rush Kazi took to the stage, sharing their hilariously unique twists on stories of growing up as a Queer, South Asian, Muslim teen in Toronto.
